Underwater acoustic pingers are devices that emit acoustic signals. They are used to identify an underwater site or piece of equipment so that a returning diver equipped with a pinger receiver can pinpoint the exact location.
Underwater devices that emit acoustic signals are known as acoustic pingers.
They are used to mark an underwater site or piece of equipment so that a returning diver equipped with a pinger receiver can find the exact location. Multiple pingers can be deployed in the same geographical region without interfering with one another since multiple broadcast frequencies are available. The diver changes the frequency of his pinger receiver to that of the target pinger, and the receiver then directs him directly to it. These low-frequency acoustic pingers have a range of 3 to 6 miles, compared to a few thousand feet for standard mid-frequency (30 to 40 kHz) pingers.
The operator may set the number of pulses per second, the duration of each pulse, and the output power on Fishers' acoustic pingers. By varying the duration of each pulse and the output strength, the operator may alter the detection range of the pingers. Before deploying the MLFP-1, the transmission frequency can be set by the operator. These characteristics render the pingers very adaptable and the best option for practically any application.
The optional PC Software enables the operator to fine-tune the variable parameters on a laptop, including the selection of delayed start (from a minute to a 365-day delay start). The pingers are powered by regular alkaline batteries that, depending on output power and pulse selection, last from a few weeks to several months. Extended Operating Life and Very Long Duration housings (which carry more batteries) are available, considerably extending the duration of the operation.
The pinger may be manually engaged on the circuit board or actuated automatically when submerged in water. Two years of EXCLUSIVE, UNCONDITIONAL coverage is provided on all Fishers pingers.

Single Low-Frequency Pinger (SLFP-1) and Multi Low-Frequency Pinger are members of JW Fisher's line of commercial grade low-frequency acoustic pingers (MLFP-1). The SLFP-1 is offered in 11-16 kHz in 1 kHz increments, one of which must be specified at the time of purchase. The MLFP-1 allows the user to pick frequencies between 11 and 16 kHz in 500 Hz increments. Before deploying the pinger, the operator chooses among eleven distinct frequencies.
