JW Fishers' SeaLion ROV is the most advanced entirely transportable underwater camera system. This model features a six-motor propulsion system consisting of four motors for forward/reverse motion and two motors for vertical and lateral thrust. The SeaLion was developed for situations requiring extensive wire lengths or working in currents up to three miles per hour. In addition to the SeaOtter's characteristics, the SeaLion adds two extra horizontal thrusters and lights that can be adjusted from 0 to 400 watts.

The SeaLion ROV is a fully movable, all-directional underwater camera system. Ideal for pipeline construction, river and ocean searches, and hazardous site inspections. The SeaLion is a more powerful variant of the immensely famous SeaOtter ROV manufactured by Fisher.

The SeaLion is equipped with two extra horizontal thrusters for increased forward and aft thrust. The Sealion is capable of operating in stronger currents and has a maximum speed of 3 miles per hour faster than the SeaOtter. The increased propulsion enables the SeaLion to operate with longer umbilical cable lengths (up to 1,000 feet). This is extremely handy for inspecting tunnels and pipelines. The maximum depth rating for the SeaOtter is 500 feet. The Sealion is offered with an extra depth rating of 1,000 feet.

The ROV is equipped with a sophisticated six-motor propulsion system, consisting of four motors for forward and reverse motion and two motors for vertical and lateral thrust. Every motor is reversible and has variable speed. On the control panel are meters that monitor the thrust and direction of the motors.

The SeaLion transmits its video image to a 13-inch, high-resolution color display. The monitor may be linked to a VCR for permanent recording. The color camera has a 6mm, 50-degree wide-angle lens. The camera's 70-degree tilt provides a 120-degree viewing angle. Four 100-watt remote-controlled tungsten halogen bulbs provide illumination. The technology is extremely mobile and "user-friendly."
